New York City's first pharmacy to offer a generic version of the drug is Pfizer's New York City pharmacists, but it will likely sell them over the counter.
The new Viagra-type pill is a treatment for impotence, also known as erectile dysfunction or ED. It's similar to the popular drug Viagra, which works by relaxing the muscles in the penis, making it easier to get an erection.

New York City pharmacies will be able to sell the medication for up to four years and have an offer to purchase them as they become available. Customers can also get a generic version of Viagra, which has been available since 1999.
